THE ART BEHIND THE TAPE BOOK

The Art Behind The Tape is complete with over 90 interviews and hundreds of images of classic mixtape art. Upon its release, the book, co-authored by radio exec  Bril Ndiaye and veteran Hip-Hop journalists  Maurice Garland and Tai Saint-Louis,  was met with great critical response and continued support from the Hip-Hop community; creating the best imaginable problem for a first-time publisher. “Our first run with the book was a tremendous learning experience and more successful than I had even imagined,” says Mars. “And to be honest: we couldn’t keep up with the demand.” Now with new inventory in stock, The Art Behind The Tape team will expand its release model to also make the book available, in limited quantities, at stores across the country.
